Classperimental - workshop for young directors in Vígszínház, Budapest
2018. 08. 29.

Open Call

Vígszínház, the biggest prosaic theatre in Hungary announces an international theatrical program for young directors.

During this workshop, which will run between 20.09.2018-01.10.2018., the accepted applicants will have the chance to get acquainted with all the specialities of the working process on a big sized stage. This is led by Enikő Eszenyi, the artistic director of Vígszínház, international acknowledged stage director.

'Classperimental' offers an extraordinary opportunity for young directors to get an inside view of the working process on a big sized stage straight from the creatives and collaborators of the upcoming shows. Throughout this unconventional training, the participants will explore the diversified and aligned work what the creation of a theatrical show on our main stage requires. During the stage rehearsals of our next shows and visiting the special theatrical departments several lectures will be held by the creators of the performances, both from the creative and from the technical side.
By the end of the workshop the young directors will be taught how the special capacities of an enormous stage influences, forms and inspires the work of a stage director.
The aim of the program is to give practical experience for the young directors by working together with the creative and technical departments of our theatre.
They will acquire the method of creating a performance by a stage director on the highest professional level in a modern, progressive, occasionally laboratory way by coordinating the scenic, light, sound and video departments, all the creative processes and the actors at the same time.
