Mission Statement
Community – Dialogue – Participation
Víg+ is a safe space where, alongside the aesthetic experience, dialogue, participation, education, and the joy of creation are valued, and where every opinion matters.
We believe that Víg+ is an open, free, and inclusive creative workshop that can engage and connect people from different generations, perspectives, and social backgrounds.
Our aim is to turn theater into a creative and cultural hub parallel to its performing function - within the city, in our daily lives, with one another, and with ourselves.
Víg+ is an art mediation and creative workshop that was established in the 2023/24 season as a continuation of Vígdiák, led by Barbara Lévai and Eszter Zewde. Our programs offer experience-based, reflective activities for various age groups - whether preparatory or post-performance sessions, improvisation workshops, or even long-term creative projects.
Who we are?
Barbara Lévai
I did my bachelor’s degree at the University of Theatre and Film Arts (2017-2020, class leaders: Máté Gáspár and Dániel Golden) specialized in drama education, then I spent a year studying at the University of Kent in Canterbury. Later I earned my master's degree in Educational Science at Eotvos Lorand University, Faculty of Education and Psychology, specializing in Theatre Education.
During my studies at the Theater University I did my internship at Örkény István Theatre’s Örkény LAB art mediation workshop. Then I worked for Radnóti Miklós Theatre’s youth workshop, RIM, and for a year I led the drama pedagogy workshop, Drama Lab, at the Hungarian Theatre.
I spent three summers in the United States, working as both a general and drama specialty counselor first at Camp Ramah in Wisconsin, then at Camp Robin Hood in New Hampshire.
Eszter Zewde
I obtained my degree in Drama Instructor-Drama Play Specialist from the University of Theatre and Film Arts (2014-2017, class leaders: Máté Gáspár and Dániel Golden). I did my internship at the Behívó youth workshop of Katona József Theatre and Kerekasztal Theatre Education Centre. Since then, I’ve worked in Pécs for the Eck Imre Primary School of Art as a drama teacher. In recent years, I’ve worked at the Vígszínház as a prompter and theatre education specialist.
I’ve been going to camps since I was five, and when I grew tired of being a camper, I’ve spent the past fourteen summers working as a group leader, drama teacher, and camp director
